Canal Way Ohio Byway

Byway Feature

Canal Fulton, a historic canal town, formally called Milan, was a busy port on the Ohio Canal during the 1840's and 1850's.  The town features Lock IV Park, one of the few remaining working locks along the canal, the Heritage House Museum and the Historic Oberlin House.

Also, while enjoying the scenery of this historic town, be sure to visit the Old Canal Days Museum/Heritazwe House, built in 1860.  This establishment contains many pictures of old canal days, canal artifacts and a model of a canal lock.  The Oberlin House, located on Cherry Street in Canal Fulton, is also available for those wishing to take part in the nostalgia of this historic port.
